Grateful Israel - Built to Last T-Shirt
$26.00
Some things are built to last. Few prove it quite like the State of Israel. The Grateful Dead have long been embraced by an unusually large and devoted Jewish fanbase — a connection that runs all the way through the band, from drummer Mickey Hart, their only Jewish member, to Bill Graham, the promoter who gave them their big break and carried a remarkable Holocaust survival story of his own.
This design pairs Grateful Dead iconography with ancient Jewish symbols — the map of Israel and the millennia-old stones of the Kotel — wrapped in the band's signature lightning bolts and roses. And instead of the classic "dancing bears," we gave them a Jewish twist: dancing lions of Judah.
Named for the Dead's final studio album, this design borrows that title for something we think earns it even more.
Gotta love the Jews.
